Where most issues occur with lamps is in the lamp switch. First, you need to identify the type of switch you need for your lamp. It will be either a 3-way or 2-way switch. You will need to separate the switch from the rest of the lamp in order to correct the problem. You’ll need a screwdriver to detach the wire and then ensure that the connection is satisfactory once you put it back on. Make sure that the wire is tight so that it is properly connected. You can lightly tug the wires to see if they are fastened enough. There shouldn’t be too much slack. Once that is done, you can put the switch back into the hardware of the lamp and put the cap back on.
